Since our founding in 1994, Pro Natura Gesellschaft für gesunde Ernährung mbH has become a leading provider of enzyme supplements for food intolerances. An integral part of this success story is the company’s commitment to people’s needs and well-being. In doing so, innovative approaches are pursued to offer high-quality products that improve people’s lives.
Our story begins with two brothers, Harry and Daniel. Both of us grew up believing that health should feel natural, not complicated - and that no one should have to live with the daily discomfort of digestive issues.
Over the years, we saw friends, family, and even ourselves struggle with bloating, stomach pain, and fatigue. We noticed how often these problems were brushed aside, and how overwhelming the world of supplements could be. That’s when we decided to take matters into our own hands.
We founded Pro Natura and set out on a mission: to create dietary supplements that are honest, effective, and made with people’s real lives in mind.
In 1995, Pro Natura was the first company in Germany to develop and market a lactase product, Lactrase®. For over 25 years already, Lactrase® has been the no. 1 brand in the lactase supplement segment in pharmacies.
In 2006, we were the first supplier in Germany to launch a product containing the enzymes alpha-galactosidase and sucrase for the breakdown of oligosaccharides.
After more than 20 years as experts and market leaders in Germany and Austria in the field of food intolerances, we launched Fructaid® in 2016 in pharmacies, a product for people with the widespread intestinal fructose intolerance.
